The Department of Health would like to reveal 📌the worrying health situation of Thai people today! This is to raise awareness and encourage everyone to take better care of themselves. Let's look at the latest survey results and solutions for the better health of all of us. 🩺💪 (7th National Health Survey Report, 2024-2025)
⚠️ Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and obesity are the cause of death for more than 3 out of 4 Thais (approximately 400,000 people per year).
📉 7th National Health Survey (NHES7) 🔴 Obesity in the 15-34 age group increased from 20% to almost 30% within 10 years. 🔴 High blood pressure in the 18-34 age group has more than doubled. 🔴 Diabetes in the 30-34 age group has increased significantly, with new cases found continuously every year.
🛑 5 Risk Behaviors Urgent Issues Needed to Be Addressed:
🥤 1. One in three teenagers drink sugary drinks daily.
🛋️ 2. More than 70% of people aged 15-34 do not get enough physical activity (less than 150 minutes/week).
😴 3. Sleeping less than 6 hours/day increases the risk of obesity and depression.
📱 4. Using screens for more than 7 hours/day leads to sedentary lifestyles.
🚬 5. Starting smoking and drinking alcohol at an average age of 17-19 years.
🚨 Impact on the nation's future if behavioral changes are not implemented: Currently, it is found that young working-age people are developing chronic diseases 10 years earlier than previous generations. Urgent action is needed. Thailand may have over 8 million diabetes patients by 2030.
✅ Stay away from NCDs with 6 lifestyle habits: Lifestyle Medicine, a solution for holistic health.
