- Provide quality and standardized dental services, including oral health promotion, prevention of oral diseases, and the treatment and rehabilitation of oral health.
- Promote and support the provision of quality dental health services at the primary level.
- Develop projects, innovations, and research to address oral health problems in the area.
Objectives of the Dentistry Department
The Dentistry Department aims to provide standardized dental services to ensure the safety, satisfaction, and good oral health of service recipients.
Service Organization and Service Limitations
A. Service Organization
The Dentistry Department of Fak Tha Hospital provides dental services to the general public in the Fak Tha district and the general public as follows:
- Dental clinic services, which include diagnosing oral diseases, filling cavities, scaling, tooth extraction, simple oral surgery such as tooth extraction and minor cyst removal, bone and tissue preparation for dentures, and treatment of uncomplicated tooth infections. Root canal treatment and removable prosthetics are also provided.
- Provide oral health promotion and prevention services for all age groups.
- Mobile dental unit services.
- Support the implementation of dental services at the primary care level.
B. Service Limitations
The Dentistry Department of Fak Tha Hospital does not provide the following services and requires referrals:
- Removable metal-based prosthetics and fixed prosthetics.
- Specialized treatments, such as:
- Patients with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems.
- Orthodontic treatments.
- Patients with fractures of the facial bones and jaws.
- Patients with severe infections in the facial and jaw areas.
- Root canal treatment, among others.
